I will be offering a guided birding (AKA bird watching) field trip in JMP to hear, see and help identify (hopefully!) resident and migrant bird species in the Park.
I am taking a year-long "Master Birding" course at the Cal Academy of Sciences, and one of our requirements is to lead a group field trip. Since JMP is my regular "birding patch" for the course, I thought it might be interesting for Friends of JMP to get to know some of the birds we see and hear while out in the Park.
All you need to bring is a pair of binoculars, and if you don't have any we can arrange for a loaner pair.
What: a leisurely birding walk around upper JMP (paved access road, Sequoia Arena, Sequoia-Bayview Trail, Castle Park Trail, etc.)
When: Friday, April 19th, from 08:30am ~ 11:00am
Where: meet at the Redwood Glen Trailhead parking area off Skyline Blvd. (at the top of the Big Trees Trail)
Please RSVP to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) so I have an idea of headcount. Feel free to bring a partner/friend/family member/etc. Any questions, let me know. Thanks!
